Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT ARE EYELASH EXTENSIONS?

Eyelash extensions are a semi-permanent service provided to lengthen and darken the appearance of your natural lashes. They are applied individually, one at a time, to each of your natural lashes to create a fuller and longer look. When properly applied, eyelash extensions should feel light and natural. Corrective mapping and design can help to balance out facial features and enhance your natural beauty.

HOW LONG DO THEY LAST?

Your new lashes will last between 2 to 4 weeks depending on your skincare routine and your own natural lash life cycle.
To maintain the full look of your lashes, it will require you to maintain refills every 2-3 weeks.

CAN I GET MY EYELASHES WET?

Yes. The bonding agent we use is waterproof and allows you to shower, swim, exercise. However, we recommend that
you wash your lashes immediately after exercise to keep them free of oil which can break down the adhesive bonds.

WILL THEY DAMAGE MY NATURAL LASHES?

If done properly, there will be no damage to your natural lash. If you pick and pull them out before they shed on their own, there will be damage. If a stylist places lashes that are too long or too thick for your natural lash, this can also cause damage. Please research any lash extension professional you are considering, to ensure they are properly trained, experienced, and
are credible before you invest money into your delicate eye area!

WHAT SHOULD I DO PRIOR TO MY APPOINTMENT?

Prior to your appointment, arrive without eye makeup, do not curl your lashes or wear mascara the day before and the day
of your appointment. It will help minimize the cleanup time and more time for lashing.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING MY APPOINTMENT?

If you didn't book your appointment online,  one of our service professionals will have you go through a consultation form
and liability waiver

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

Depending on the look you desire, a full set of lashes take between 1 hour, up to 3 hours (for Mega Volume). On average, your initial appointment will be booked for 1.5-3 hours so you can complete the necessary paperwork and have a consultation with your stylist before the application of the lashes.

CAN I APPLY MASCARA TO MY EYELASH EXTENSIONS?

We do not recommend applying mascara to your eyelash extensions. We strongly advise against applying mascara of
any kind to volume eyelash extensions. Oil-free/water-based mascara to the lower lashes, however, it must be washed off
prior to sleep to avoid break down of the adhesive bonds.

CAN I EXERCISE OR USE A SAUNA WITH MY EYELASH EXTENSIONS?

While it is perfectly fine to exercise with your eyelash extensions, we do advise that you cleanse them afterward to keep them free of oil which can break down the adhesive bonds and cause the extensions to fall off prematurely. As is the case with the sauna. If you use the sauna please beware that heat may cause the extension fibres to lose their curl or straighten. This is also the case with any type of heat exposure.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF EYELASH EXTENSIONS?

There are classic, volume, and mega volume eyelash extensions as well as hybrid/blended which is a blend of classic and volume. Classic lashes are single fibers. Classic is usually a more natural, mascara look with added length. Volume lashes
are multiple fibers,
usually 2-8, in lighter weight crafted into small "fans/bouquets". Volume lashes are customizable and
can create a more natural or full look.
Mega volume is created with 9-15D fans in very fine fibers (light in weight, equal
to
a single classic eyelash extension). Mega Volume can be a more dramatic look.

WHAT ARE THE RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH EYELASH EXTENSIONS?

Some individuals may experience mild irritations or allergies, irritations can be minimized with proper application, regular fanning, nano-misting, and appropriate adhesive use. Allergies may be manageable, however, there is no guarantee

If proper aftercare isn't followed, individuals may experience itchy or irritated eyes. It is extremely important to deep
cleanse the
lashes to avoid this.

I HAD A REACTION BEFORE, CAN I STILL GET EYELASH EXTENSIONS?

It is possible but there are no guarantees. Sometimes irritations are mistaken for allergic reactions. We don't recommend eyelash extensions to individuals who have had true allergic reactions.

WHAT PAYMENT TYPE DO YOU ACCEPT?

Cash, credit, and debit.

This can be avoided in SOME circumstances if the appointment is rescheduled.  Any appointments missed completely with no notice will be charged the full value.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF EYELASH ENHANCEMENTS AND WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THEM?

To answer this question, we have put together a comparison chart:

Strip/False Lashes
Purchased at drug or beauty stores, these are lashes arranged on a single strip that you apply to your eyelid. They are temporary, and often not natural in appearance. Great for a dramatic change in lash look for special events, not recommended for every day wear as the glue does not wash off very well which can leave a residue behind, and they can
be damaging to the natural lash or irritating to the eyelid if worn for long periods of time or incorrectly.

Flare/Cluster Lashes
These can be purchased at a drugstore or applied by a professional. They come in clusters or single lashes: don't be mistaken, these ARE NOT eyelash extensions. Glued to the base of several lashes, they are very damaging and not recommended for any occasion. They are quite inexpensive to have applied, but the fumes from the glue can be irritating to the eye. They are also very 'fake' looking, and not customizable, as they only come in a few different lengths.

Semi-Permanent Eyelash Extensions
Called 'semi-permanent' because they can last up to the time the natural lash sheds, these extensions are applied to one natural eyelash only. These come in two different styles, Classic and Volume (classic, volume, blended/hybrid, mega volume).

CLASSIC

1 LE (lash extension) applied to 1 NL (natural lash). These are customizable and when done by a trained and experienced lash technician, will not cause damage. This is the most natural look you can achieve with eyelash extensions.

VOLUME

This is a technique originating in Russia. Extensions weighing only a fraction of what classic extensions weigh are applied in groups
of 2-8, like a little fan, to a single natural eyelash. This creates a beautiful soft, natural, and full look without causing damage. This is a glamorous look.

MEGA VOLUME

Applied in groups of 9-20 using ultra lightweight fibres. Lashes will be black out and dramatic but still feel very light while wearing. This is a dark and dramatic look.

HYBRID/BLENDED

This is a 50/50 blend of classic (single fibres) and volume (lightweight 'fans'). This look is perfect for somebody looking for something a little more than natural or who has a sparse lash line and would like to fill in some gaps to give the illusion of full natural lashes.
